Tech/General Licensing Classe

The WSU Amateur Radio Club will be holding a licensing class on February 22nd, 2014 at 10:00 AM in ETRL 101. The class will continue on February 23rd at 10:00 AM, with the exam to follow.

We are planning to finish up the class at 5PM at the latest on Saturday. The test will be administered at 3:30 PM Sunday, and will likely be done around 4:30 PM.

The class will cover all the topics that are on the Technician exam. That includes basic electronics, operating procedures, RF safety, etc. Lunch will be provided courtesy of the club on both days. There is a $15 fee for taking the test and getting your license.

This time around we will also be holding a General license study session simultaneously. We will NOT be teaching all the material in detail, but we will be going over portions of it and reviewing the entire question pool. There will be required reading for this portion of the class, which is posted at the bottom of this page. If you are attending the technician class, you will not be able to participate in the general study session, but you are more than welcome to review the general material and take the general exam after you pass the technicians.

If you do not have an FCC FRN number and plan on taking the exam, please obtain one by filling out the form linked at the bottom of this post.

If you are interested in taking the class and/or the test, please RSVP using the following URL:

RSVP is not required, but helps us in planning the class.

We look forward to seeing you there! Any questions can be emailed to hamradio@wsu.edu.

The ARRL publishes the question pools for all exams, if you want to study them on your own feel free to do so.
